Star Wars POTF - Emperor Palpatine

Last Chancellor of the Galactic Republic and Dark Lord of The Sith. 

A native of Naboo, Palpatine used his political skills as well as his evil power to rise up to become supreme Chancellor.  It was at this point that he put the final stroke to his masterplan, implementing Order 66 and destroying the Jedi. 

Although trained to be a Sith Master by Darth Plagueis (who was murdered by his pupil), Palpatine's dark motives were never suspected, even by the Jedi Council.  In seeking a replacement for his previous apprentice Darth Maul, Palpatine nurtured a young Jedi warrior called Anakin Skywalker and created the terror of Darth Vader.

Vader proved to be a less-than-perfect pupil and there was mutual distrust and trechary throughout the years of the Empire until Vader finally turned on his master to save his son Luke.  Those who only watched the films would expect that that was the last of the Emperor, those who read the books know that there was more to come from him.....
