Dumbledores Wand in the Books

The Elder Wand, was originally owned by Antioch Peverell.

It is mentioned through the centuries under many different names,

including the Deathstick and the Wand of Destiny. It was owned by

Gregorovitch, the wand-maker who made Viktor Krum's wand, but

was then stolen from him by a young, blond Grindelwald Grindelwald

used the Elder Wand for destructive purposes as he gained power,

and word got back to Dumbledore in Britain that he had obtained a

"wand of immense power" - So in 1945 Dumbledore challenged

him to a duel and defeated him, Grindelwald spent the rest of his

life in prison and Dumbledore became famous and took ownership

of the Elder Wand. There is some debate as to what his wand was

before he won the Elder Wand
